Trans Atlantic rough diamond tender sees significant decline in transaction volume

1
At its April auction, Trans Atlantic Gem Sales offered $35 million worth of South African rough diamonds, but only sold about $20 million. Many lots were withdrawn after failing to reach the required prices, with smaller carat and relatively poorer quality products seeing relatively large price drops.

TAGS noted that starting in early March, market demand for rough diamonds dropped significantly due to the volatile geopolitical situation. This comes after the company set a record of $75 million at its last auction, which ended on March 2. TAGS believes that the price of rough diamonds will gradually stabilize and return to the level at the end of 2021 in the future.

Mingpai Jewelry enters real estate brokerage business

After the market closed on April 19, Mingpai Jewelry (002574.SZ) issued an announcement stating that it would use no more than 300 million yuan of its own funds to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary, Shanghai Zhijingduo Information Technology Co., Ltd. (registered capital of 10 million yuan), and plans to carry out real estate sales brokerage business.

In response, Mingpai Jewelry said in an announcement that since its establishment, the company has focused on the research and development, production and sales of precious metal jewelry. In recent years, the increasingly fierce competition in the jewelry industry and the impact of the epidemic have had a certain impact on the company's operations, resulting in a slow growth in the company's profits.
In addition, the company's asset-liability ratio is low and cash flow is relatively abundant. Therefore, the company hopes to expand into new industries with good development prospects.
