Appreciation|Master of Design: Typical Jewelry Design Manuscripts from Different Periods
The beauty of gemstones can only be revealed through carving, while the soul of jewelry can only be born through the hands of an excellent designer.
Sotheby's once held a jewelry design manuscript exhibition called "Master of Design" in London, exhibiting nearly 300 jewelry and silverware design drafts that have never been publicly displayed. The manuscripts exhibited this time were mainly created between 1890 and 1950, covering many famous jewelers such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels. Typical designs from different periods such as Tutti Frutti, Belle Epoque, Garland Style, and Egyptian style can be seen.
